A poll-site election for a seat on the Walla Walla County Conservation District Board will be held during the 2017 Annual meeting on January 25th at the Walla Walla Regional Airport Blue Mountain Community Room, 45 Terminal Loop Rd, Walla Walla. Polls will open at 8:30 a.m. and close at 12:30. Registered voters who reside within the Conservation District boundary are eligible to vote. Candidates must be registered voters residing in the conservation district and may be required to own land or operate a farm. Supervisors are public officials who serve without compensation. They set policy and direct the activities of the conservation district. The candidate filing deadline is December 16, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. Absentee ballots are available upon request for eligible voters but must be requested on or before 4 p.m. on January 12th, 2017. Election procedures may be viewed at the District office or at the Washington Conservation Commission website (www.scc.wa.gov).
