Spring Creek is a high quality tributary of Dry Creek which flows to the Walla Walla River and supports a remnant run of Mid-Columbia Steelhead. This project addressed two passage barriers a short distance from the mouth of Spring Creek and opened up 3.2 miles of tributary habitat for steelhead rearing and spawning. The District used a series of rock weirs to step up the surface elevation 6 to 12 inches per weir and replanted the riparian area with native plant species. The project design was completed by the District engineer in cooperation with WDFW and the CTUIR (Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation). Funding was provided by BPA.
